How I work

I work with adult (18 years+) individuals and couples.

I offer in-person sessions as well as telehealth.

As your psychotherapist I endeavor to treat you with respect, honesty, compassion, curiosity, and humility.  I believe that whatever is on your mind is on your mind for a reason, and is helpful information for our goal of understanding you at a deeper level.  I listen to what you are saying and try to convey what I understand and notice about it.  Thinking and talking together about our own interactions is often helpful.

I try to foster your curiosity and your self-acceptance.  I encourage these attitudes because they directly benefit your well-being and because they facilitate increasing contact with the forces within you – your thoughts, emotions, impulses, and desires.  Understanding and accepting yourself relieves distressing symptoms and unlocks energies for growth.
